The 2024 edition of the Women's Premier League is all set to kick off on February 23, with the tournament opener scheduled to be played between the inaugural champions, Mumbai Indians, and the runner-up from the last season, Delhi Capitals, at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. 

Meanwhile, the Royal Challengers Bangalore will launch their tournament bid against the UP Warriorz on February 24. After a challenging run in the previous season of the Women's Premier League, the Women in Red are aiming for a turnaround in fortunes this year.

Recently, they shared a striking image of their captain, Smriti Mandhana, donning the Royal Challengers Bangalore jersey, exuding confidence and style. 


Under the leadership of Smriti Mandhana, Royal Challengers Bangalore wrapped up the WPL 2023 season with a second-to-last standing on the points table, managing just two wins out of their eight matches.  

Smriti Mandhana's performance in WPL 2023 was a struggle, as she accumulated only 149 runs in eight matches, with an average of 18.62 and a strike rate of 111.19. Looking ahead to WPL 2024, she will be eager for a more productive season.
