Ravindra Jadeja Dedicates 'Player Of The Match' Award To Wife Rivaba

Ravindra Jadeja reinforced his class and pedigree on his comeback in the Rajkot Test. After missing the previous game in Visakhapatnam with an injury, the local lad roared in Saurashtra with a tremendous allround display in India's massive win over England. 

The premier India Test allrounder produced a high-class century after walking in deep strife with India placed in a precarious hole at 33/3 on Day 1 of the fixture. The great knock helped India overcome the trouble waters and post an imposing first-innings score of 445. 

After a magnificent innings, it was time for the 35-year-old to showcase his mastery with the ball as the left-arm spinner came up with figures of 2/51 in the first half to give India a sizeable lead of 126 runs and then unleashed his wrath in the second-innings with a match-winning 5 for 41. 


Jadeja Dedicates 'Player Of The Match' To Wife Rivaba 

On the back of his terrific overall performance, Jadeja was handed a much-deserved 'Player of the Match' trophy in India's hefty win by 434 runs. Speaking at the post-match presentation ceremony, the local boy dedicated the individual prize following a great display to his wife Rivaba. 


Jadeja said it was his wife, Rivaba Jadeja, who offered him great support and gave him the confidence to bounce back after his injury-forced absence in the Vizag Test, having hurt his hamstring during his run-out in the previous game in Hyderabad. 

"This is a special Man of the Match on my home ground and I would like to dedicate this to my wife because she has been working hard on me behind mentally and also gives me a lot of confidence," he said.

Jadeja's excellent performance in either skill reiterated his status in the Indian Test team as he continues to soar to great heights with the bat and the ball, registering his name among the pantheon of Indian greats in the longest version.
