Ayush Badoni might not be a household name just yet but the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) young gun just sent a loud and clear message ahead of IPL 2025. During a high-intensity pre-season nets session, the 25-year-old took on a challenge from LSG assistant coach Lance Klusener to smash six sixes in a row.

Badoni Takes Lace Klusener's Challenge

Taking the challenge heads on, Ayush Badoni delivered in style and left the veteran all-rounder mighty impressed. Klusener, known for his own six-hitting brilliance back in the day, threw the ultimate test at Badoni: clear the ropes six times in a row.

With confidence dripping off him, Badoni took a couple of wild swings that connected sweetly. Then, stepping out to meet the challenge head-on, he sent a few more flying over the ropes, completing the task in style.

The former Proteas powerhouse, who knows a thing or two about clean ball-striking, didn’t hold back his praise. “Good work. Very nice boy,” Klusener said, nodding in approval as Badoni stood tall, having passed the test with flying colors.

A Rising Star in LSG’s Squad

Badoni has been with Lucknow Super Giants since 2022, when the franchise picked him up for a base price of Rs 20 lakh. Fast forward to IPL 2025, and he’s one of the five players retained by LSG alongside Nicholas Pooran, Ravi Bishnoi, Mayank Yadav, and Mohsin Khan.

The young all-rounder, who can also bowl off-spin, has already given glimpses of his talent in the IPL. With an aggressive batting style and a knack for clearing the ropes, Badoni is shaping up to be one of LSG’s X-factors this season.

The Pant-Langer Era at LSG Begins

LSG enters IPL 2025 with Rishabh Pant as their captain, making him the costliest IPL player ever at INR 27 crore. Under the watchful eyes of head coach Justin Langer, the franchise is looking to go the distance this year. According to LSG schedule for IPL 2025, the team's first clash is against Delhi Capitals on March 24, just two days after the season opener between KKR and RCB in Kolkata.
