Delhi captain and Lucknow Super Giants star Ayush Badoni was in sensational form during the Ranji Trophy match against Railways at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on January 31. He was on the verge of scoring a well-deserved century, but unfortunately, he fell just one run short, getting out on 99. His dismissal left many disappointed, including Virat Kohli, who was visibly frustrated as Badoni missed out on reaching three figures.

The heartbreaking moment came in the 56th over of Delhi’s first innings when Karn Sharma came to bowl. With just one run needed to complete his century, Badoni attempted an unnecessary shot, but it proved costly. Kunal Yadav took a sharp catch, sending the Delhi captain back to the pavilion on 99 runs.

It was a tough moment for the young cricketer, as he had played a brilliant knock but couldn’t cross the final hurdle.

Delhi Find Their Form Against Railways

Talking about the match, Railways posted 241 runs in their first innings before getting bowled out, with Upendra Yadav being the top scorer with 95 runs. In response, Delhi had a mixed start, losing Arpit Rana (10) and Sanat Sangwan (30) early. Yash Dhull managed to score 32 runs, while Virat Kohli failed to make an impact, getting out for just 6 runs against Himanshu Sangwan.

Despite Badoni’s unfortunate dismissal, his brilliant innings helped Delhi reach 241-5, leveling the score with Railways and keeping the match in a balanced position.
