Zimbabwe cricket team is set for a challenging assignment against Pakistan as the men in green are touring from a white-ball bilateral series. Pakistan have decided to send a young team to test bench strength. However, Zimbabwe are not taking their opponents likely as the board released two balanced squads for the ODI and T20I series.
Craig Ervine will captain the ODI team, bringing experience and leadership to the squad. Key players include seasoned all-rounders Sikandar Raza and Sean Williams, as well as pacers Blessing Muzarabani and Richard Ngarava. The squad includes three uncapped players in Trevor Gwandu, Tashinga Musekiwa, and Tinotenda Maposa.
Sikandar Raza to lead in T20Is
Moving on to the T20I setup, Sikandar Raza will lead a youthful side, with selectors focusing on continuity from their successful ICC T20 World Cup Africa sub-regional qualifier tournament in Kenya. The squad does not include senior players like Craig Ervine and Sean Williams, making way for emerging talents. Players like Ryan Burl, Wessly Madhevere, and Brandon Mavuta are expected to bring flair and dynamism.
The ODI series is scheduled for November 24,26 and 28 whereas the T20Is will begin from December 1 followed by the second game on December 3 and the final on December 5.
