Ahmed Shehzad Calls Out Pakistan After Humiliating Whitewash
Ahmed Shehzad didn’t hold back. He called for changes, asking selectors to ditch “baggage” senior players and bring in younger talent from the domestic circuit. With the South Africa series coming up, Shehzad posted,
“Getting whitewashed by this Australian side is shameful, horrible, and embarrassing. There’s no answer for such a horrible performance.”
He’s clearly had it with the squad’s recent showings and wants a full revamp for the upcoming South Africa series.
AUS vs PAK 3rd T20I Highlights
Choosing to bat, Pakistan was bowled out for just 117 in 18.1 overs. Babar Azam gave it his best with 41 off 28, but he didn’t get much support. Haseebullah Khan chipped in with 24, but Aaron Hardie and Adam Zampa ripped through the lineup, Hardie grabbing three wickets, and Spencer Johnson and Zampa getting two each.
Australia didn’t waste any time. Marcus Stoinis came out firing, smashing 61 off 27 balls, with five boundaries and five sixes. Josh Inglis added 27, making Pakistan’s total look easy. Shaheen Afridi, Jahandad Khan, and Abbas Afridi picked up a wicket each, but it wasn’t enough to stop Australia from winning in just 11.2 overs.
Meanwhile, with South Africa on the horizon, Shehzad’s message is loud and clear. The fans, too, want to see changes, and all eyes will now on the selectors to see if they’ll take Shehzad’s advice and bring in fresh blood.
