Indian top-order batter Shubman Gill attended the Namyang Monastery in Dharamshala just a couple of days before the launch of his team’s fifth and final Test of the series against England.

Under Rohit Sharma’s leadership, the Indian team walloped England in three successive Tests to seal the series with a match to spare. However, with crucial WTC points on the line, the hosts will be aiming to clinch their upcoming Dharamshala affair to seize the series with a 4-1 scoreline.

A couple of days prior to the launch of the fifth Test, Shubman Gill was spotted spending time at Namyang Monastery in Dharamshala.

In a viral social media post, the 24-year-old cricketer can be seen sitting among the monks in a bid to explore his “spiritual side”.

Shubman Gill recently punched out scores of 38 and 52* in India’s five-wicket series-clinching win over England at Ranchi. The dashing right-hander also pounded a match-winning century in Vizag and a sizzling 91 in Rajkot to signal his return to form with the bat. So far in the series, Gill has tallied 342 runs from eight innings at a splendid average of 48.85.

The 24-year-old will now be seen taking the field against England in the final Test match at Dharamshala between March 7 and March 11. The match will serve as India’s final international fixture before all players break out to join their respective franchises in the upcoming IPL 2024 season.

Shubman Gill himself is lined up to lead the Gujarat Titans franchise this month for the first time in his career.
