Shreyas Iyer Reveals How SRK Helped KKR Revive The Campaign Midway In IPL 2024

It has been 10 days since Kolkata Knight Riders lifted their third IPL title, but the celebrations are still on and show no sign of slowing down in the near future. It was a special moment for Kolkata and KKR fans as the Shreyas Iyer-led side clinched the title after a long wait of 10 years. 

KKR got their first hand on the title in 2012 and won again two years later. However, the team failed to replicate their success in the following seasons and came close to winning one when they lost the finals in 2021. 

However, the Shahrukh Khan-owned side made several changes ahead of IPL 2024 such as roping in Gautam Gambhir as the mentor.

Gambhir, who won two titles as a player with KKR, made an immediate impact on the side and hogged the internet for his efforts. The fans even raised their voice in unison for Gambhir to succeed Rahul Dravid who is set to quit as India's head coach after T20 World Cup 2024.

In the latest events, KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer heaped massive praise on owner Shahrukh Khan and shed light on how he believed in the side since the start and motivated the bunch to keep fighting for the title.

Iyer revealed that when KKR suffered a humiliating defeat against Punjab Kings, which was a high-scoring thriller, SRK interacted with him and revealed that KKR would lift the title. 

"I remember after the PBKS match which we lost, Shah Rukh sir  whispered into my ear that  'Doesnt matter whatever happens to this season, I know the fact that we are going to win and you are going to lift the Trophy". That stayed in mind, after the final, I told him - he inspires the youngsters a lot," Shreyas Iyer said.
