In a shocking development, several foreign players including Pakistan stars like Mohammad Haris and Aftab Alam have refused to play in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) due to unpaid dues. According to reports in Bangladesh, foreign players of Durbar Rajshahi have decided not to play further in the league, and the players are Ryan Burl, McCauley Cummins, Lahiru, Mark Doyle and the two Pakistan players mentioned.

Due to the unavailability of their foreign stars, the Durbar Rajshahi fielded 11 players, comprising of local stars in their last BPL match. The local players were accommodated in the lineup to compensate for the missing foreign stars.

This is not the first instance where players have boycotted matches in the BPL due to unpaid dues. Earlier in the season, the Rajshahi players skipped their training session as they protested against the non payment of their salaries.

This has tarnished the reputation of the Bangladesh Premier League and the governing body could take action against the franchise.

Rajshahi at 4th place in points table

The Durbar Rajshahi are at the 4th position in the points table after 11 matches. The side has won 5 and lost 6 as the team is eyeing a berth in the playoffs.

In their last match, the team fielded XI local players and despite several foreigners missing, the side won the contest against Rangpur Riders.

In a low-scoring thriller, Rajshahi posted 118 runs on a tricky surface, and their bowlers delivered the goods as Rangpur Riders got knocked out for 117, losing the games by 2 runs.
