Former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar showered his anger on skipper Babar Azam for his poor on field captaincy. This comment came right after the marquee match got washed out, providing both the teams one point each. The Rawalpindi Express believes Babar made captaincy error by going back to his defensive approach.

Shoaib thinks Babar made an absolute blunder by bowling spin overs even after India were reduced to 4 wickets for just 66 runs. He thinks, Babar could have given 'short-spells' of two overs each to keep attacking the Indian batters. Pace from one end and spin from the other could have been applied. Instead, Babar made Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz  and Salman Agha bowl cumulatively 21 overs without taking a single wicket.

“Pakistan fast bowling has done wonders. Pakistan should have continued with pacers with short two-over spells from one end and operated spin from only one end. Pakistan should have bowled India out inside 40 overs itself. Pakistan should have capitalized after reducing India to 66-4. Babar Azam needs to be more aggressive as a captain," Akhtar said on his YouTube channel.

In the end, Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf returned with the match figures of 4/35 and 3/58 respectively. Post the rain halt in the first couple of overs, Shaheen went all over India's top order taking both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. His colleague Haris gave him the much needed support from the opposite end. But post their exploits, Babar replaced them with the spinners, which halted their momentum.

In their next match, Pakistan will face either of Bangladesh or Afghanistan in Lahore. So, Babar will get chances to rectify those 'errors' and come good.
