A campaign for the Asia Cup that is devoid of heated arguments does not succeed. Up until Sunday, September 3, the ongoing edition of the competition appeared to be too friendly among the Asian competitors when Bangladesh pacer Hasan Mahmud got into a heated argument with Afghanistan's top-order batsman Rahmat Shah at Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium.

It all happened after the second ball of the seventh over, when Rahmat Shah drove a fullish Hasan Mahmud delivery straight to the bowler. Mahmud gathered the ball and immediately threw it straight at Rahmat. The Afghan batsman managed to avoid it somehow, but he was not pleased with what had just occurred on the field.

Unsurprisingly, Rahmat went straight to the on-field umpires to complain about the incident. Mahmud, on the other hand, returned to his run-up without even offering an apology. However, things did not go wild after that, as contest resumed without any further delay.

Chasing a challenging 335, Shah made a steady 57-ball 33 before Taskin Ahmed cleaned him up in the 18th over. Ibrahim Zadran is still in the middle at the time of writing, batting on 56 alongside skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi, who took 16 balls for his five. Afghanistan, meanwhile, have reached 99/2 after 23.2 overs.
