As per the latest reports, India have nearly finalised their squad for the England T20Is. Some big changes and surprises are to be expected in the squad.
The latest report by Express Sports suggest, India's prime pacer - Mohammed Shami is fit and is expected to be back in the side. Another major development is that the left-arm wrist spinner, Kuldeep Yadav, might not find a place on the side.
Suryakumar Yadav will retain his spot as the side's captain, and there was not much doubt about this. Besides Surya, players like Tilak Varma, Arshdeep Singh, Nitish Reddy and Axar Patel have retained their spot.
Kuldeep Yadav Regaining His Fitness
As the reports suggest, Kuldeep Yadav is still not at the fitness where he can represent India. It is for this reason that India will not be selecting him for the series. However, BCCI will keep a keen eye on his fitness and monitor his development ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy. Varyn Chakrvarthy has retained his place in the squad as the lead spinner.
Mohammed Shami Is Fit And Ready To Go
The prime Indian pacer, Mohammed Shami, has not been in action since the ODI World Cup 2023. However, he has regained his fitness and performed decently with the bat and ball in recent domestic tournaments. One of the biggest positives to take from Shami's recent performances is that he has delivered with both the bat and the ball. Thus, giving him the go-ahead for the ICC Champions Trophy will allow India to test its combination with Shami.
Rishabh Pant Out; Jurel Included In
In another surprise inclusion, India's young wicketkeeper batter, Dhruv Jurel has been included in the side. This could be a big positive for the batter as he can impress the management with his performance and find a way in the CT 2025 squad or establish himself as a regular member of the T20 side.
