Brisbane Heat have played a brilliant master-stroke and have signed Pakistan sensation, Shaheen Afridi for the upcoming Big Bash League (BBL 15) season. The seamer was drafted in the Platinum pick as he will represent the BBL winners of the 2023-24 season. He will play alongside the likes of Spencer Johnson, Xavier Bartlett, and Nathan McSweeney.

The Heat had the number 1 pick in this year's draft and they utilized it to perfection by going after one of the best pacers in world cricket. The 25-year-old will be available for the entirety of the season and this was one of the main reasons why Heat went after Afridi.

Pakistan has a big gap during the November-February window as there is no international match scheduled. Hence, the likes of Afridi and other Pakistan stars, including Babar Azam and Muhammad Rizwan are available for the mega tournament in Australia.
