India has been touring England since 1932 and has tasted success on English shores on just three occasions. The tricky English conditions have always been a tough ask for the Asian team and their success rate in England tells the entire story. Only three captains have won a series against the English side and here is a list of all the Indian skippers to have achieved the feat.

1) Ajit Wadekar - 1971

It was under the guidance of the great Ajit Wadekar when India won their first-ever Test series Vs England on their soil. The year was 1971 and the expectations were low from the Indian side. However, what transpired was a remarkable win as the Asian team dominated the Cricket powerhouse.

The first two matches at Lord's and Manchester were a drawn affair but Bhagwath Chandrasekhar's 6-wicket haul in the Oval Test turned the tides and gave India a famous series win as they won it, 1-0.

2) Kapil Dev - 1986

After the triumph at the 1983 World Cup, India's next success in England came during the 198 tour and Kapil Dev was the captain of the team. Not a lot was expected of the team but they showed their class as Kapil's men demolished the hosts at Lord's and Headingley to capture the series before the third Test was a draw. This time, the Indian batters proved their mettle and helped the team to a famous win.

3) Rahul Dravid - 2007

In 2007, the Indian side was led by Rahul Dravid and the team was full of superstars with the likes of Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly in the side. The team looked clinical throughout the tour and decimated the hosts and Trent Bridge, Nottingham to win the Test. The games at Lord's and Oval were draw and India captured the series, 1-0.
