Shadab Khan is not part of Pakistan's Champions Trophy squad but he is leading Pakistan Shaheens in the warm-up fixtures ahead of the event and his team has started off with a bang. The home team came up with a dominating 144-run win over Afghanistan and it was courtesy a complete performance where both batters and bowlers delivered.

The captain Shadab Khan led from the front with the ball, bagging three wickets for just 29 runs and helping Afghanistan bowled out for just 170 in their run-chase of 315. The performance showed that Shadab Khan is getting back to his groove and is proving himself ahead of Champions Trophy and pushing for a place in the side if someone gets injured.

Along with Shadab Khan, Pakistan Shaheen pacers also bowled well. Kashif Ali, Jahandad Khan, Mohammad Amir Khan, Abbas Afridi, Arafat Minhas all picked one wicket apiece and destroyed a quality batting line-up. In the first half, Pakistan Shaheen batters stepped up with Mohsin Riaz hitting fifty at the top of the order and Hussain Talat top-scoring with 70 off 75 balls.

The match was played at the renovated Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore and Afghanistan who will now be heading to Karachi for their second warm-up fixture against the Kiwis would be hoping to make a strong comeback. As far as Pakistan Shaheens are considered, two different teams will play against South Africa and Bangladesh respectively.
