As the 15th edition of the Asia Cup inches closer, Virat Kohli remains the centre of attraction, with the Indian fans craving for his return back to form.

Amidst a scratch patch, runs from Kohli's bat have dried up and an international century eludes the veteran since 2019.

While the batting great is receiving tremendous support from the Indian supporters, players from a neighbouring country, Pakistan, have joined the chorus as his well-wishers. After Shaheen Shah Afridi wished that Kohli finds his touch soon, Shadab Khan expressed his desire to see the 33-year-old's wait for a ton coming to an end in the upcoming tournament.

'Whenever he comes, you are a bit scared…'

Speaking in a press conference, Shadab stated that Kohli holds the same intimidation in the minds of the bowlers.

"They (the former cricketers) don't play anymore, that's why they think that he doesn't instil fear. He (Kohli) is a legend of the game, he has performed quite a lot. Whenever he comes, you are a bit scared because he is a big player. We don't want him to play a long innings against us," Shadab said as quoted by India Today.

"I pray that he returns to how he was. He is performing good even now, but the standards that he has set.. they make it feel as if he is out of form. I personally wish that he scores a century; not against us, but against some team else in this tournament," he added.

Kohli's comeback

After a break of about 40 days, Kohli will return to cricketing action when India face-off Pakistan on August 28 at Dubai.
