After stunning England at Lord's, South African players take the cake in the newly-released rankings that the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Wednesday (August 24).

Kagiso Rabada's seven-wicket tally in the fixture led to a huge gain for the pacer as he jumped two spots to land at third overall position in the latest ICC Test bowler rankings.

Anrich Nortje and Marco Jansen are the other two speedsters forming the Proteas' lethal pace troika. While the former was rewarded with the 25th place in the bowlers' rankings, the latter found 17th spot in the pool of all-rounders.

South Africa skipper Dean Elgar also rose one spot from 14th to 13th position in the latest rankings for batters.

Major shifts in ODI rankings

The ODI series between Pakistan and Netherlands resulted in prominent changes in the rankings. While Pakistan skipper Babar Azam remains the number uno ODI batter, Imam-ul-Haq's poor outings with the willow pushed him down to fourth from second position in the batting rankings.

Kane Williamson's ODI comeback versus the West Indies helped him occupy the 11th spot in the list of batters.

Zimbabwe's Sikandar Raza recent ODI century against India gave him a nudge to 25th overall position in the batting rankings.

Star India batter Shubman Gill smashed his maiden international ton versus Zimbabwe. This resulted in a resounding rise as Gill made a 93-spot jump to 38th rank.
