Security Tightened As Terrorist Threat Looms Over 4th Test Between India And England

The fourth Test of the ongoing five-match series between India and England, scheduled to take place in Ranchi, faces a potential threat due to a warning issued by the Sikh for Justice group. 

In a video posted on YouTube, the group's leader, Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, urged Maoists to disrupt the match. Law enforcement authorities have taken this threat seriously, initiating an investigation and filing a case. 

Pannun allegedly advocated for the exclusion of Indian team captain Rohit Sharma and England team captain Ben Stokes from the match and even called for the withdrawal of the England team from India.

To ensure the safety of players and spectators, stringent security measures, including special exits and barricades, will be implemented to manage the expected large crowds. 

Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, a resident of Punjab currently living in the United States of America (USA), sparked controversy with his video, where he urged Maoists to create chaos in both Jharkhand and Punjab to disrupt the scheduled cricket match. 

Despite the security concerns, India enters the match in a strong position, buoyed by their remarkable 434-run victory in Rajkot. 

However, there are speculations about vice-captain Jasprit Bumrah's absence in Ranchi, as the BCCI may opt to rest him ahead of the next match. 

Bumrah, who has been exceptional in the series with 17 wickets, might be given a break. Additionally, the availability of KL Rahul remains uncertain.

On the other hand, England is determined to level the series in Ranchi. Skipper Ben Stokes, recovering from a knee injury, is expected to contribute with both bat and ball in this crucial encounter. Despite consecutive losses, no significant changes are expected in England's playing XI.
