Sanju Samson Ruled Out Of RCB Clash, Confirm RR

The Royals released an official statement regarding Sanju Samson's unavailability for the upcoming IPL 2025 match against RCB. The swashbuckling opening batter is still recovering from the side injury he sustained while batting against Delhi Capitals.

As stated by the Royals, Samson will remain at their home base with their medical staff, who will monitor his recovery. They will follow a game-by-game approach to take a call on his IPL 2025 return.

"He is currently undergoing recovery and will remain at the team’s home base with select RR medical staff. As part of his ongoing rehab process, he will not be travelling to Bangalore for the upcoming match against RCB,” the Royals' statement read, as quoted by Sportstar.

He was retired hurt midway in the game and couldn't play the previous encounter against Lucknow SuperGiants. In his absence, Riyan Parag led the Royals in that fixture.

Sanju Samson's Injury Ridden Journey In IPL 2025

RR skipper Sanju Samson sustained a finger injury, which prevented him from full-fledged participation in the first three games. As a result, he played purely as a batter, with Parag leading the side initially in the tournament.

Although he returned as the captain after completing his rehabilitation, an unfortunate side injury jeopardised his IPL 2025 campaign, ruling him out of action against Lucknow SuperGiants.

Samson's injury has emerged as a massive setback for the Royals, who are reeling at eighth in the ten-team standings with two wins in across eight matches.
