Just when everything was going well for the Rajasthan Royals captain, Sanju Samson, the Kerala batter suffered an injury and was forced to walk off the field as the batter looked frustrated with himself. He didn't got hit by any delivery, but while chasing a ball, the batter pulled off a muscle in the rib-cage area perhaps.
The physio came out to attend the RR captain and he was treated on the field itself. However, after playing one more delivery, Samson decided to walk off the field as Riyan Parag came out to bat.
How Samson suffered an injury?
Vipraj Nigam the DC spinner bowled a flatter length ball outside the off as Sanju Samson gave it a chase and missed the delivery. However, at that moment he pulled a muscle near his rib cage area but he decided to carry on.
However, after playing just one delivery, the RR captain decided not to take further risks as he walked off with an injury which could potentially hamper RR's IPL journey.
Can RR take Samson's replacement to bat?
Interestingly, RR cannot call in a Samson replacement for this game, however, there is still an option for the Impact Sub and additionally it will give an extra batters' option in a tricky chase. Parag came out to bat when Samson walked back and the move failed as the batter was dismissed by Axar Patel for 8 off 11 balls.
