November is here, and the internet is buzzing because it is the month of IPL retentions. Notably, the BCCI has asked all ten franchises to submit their final list by November 15, and fans are just 15 days away from learning which players will be released and go under the hammer in the auction set to take place in December.

October 3, 2025: Official: Coaching staff leaves RR

RR, who finished 9th in IPL 2025, saw a major overhaul in their coaching staff in early October as Spin-bowling coach Sairaj Bahutule and fielding coach Dishant Yagnik quit their respective jobs and won't be seen in the RR dugout from IPL 2026.

October 8, 2025: Rumour:  Anonymous franchise tries to lure Cummins, Head, with an exclusive deal

On October 8, Pat Cummins and Travis Head were approached by a certain IPL franchise with a $10 million per year to quit Australian cricket and make themselves available for global T20 leagues, where the franchise has its teams.

October 10: Rumour: IPL auction date, Samson, Starc likely to be released

On October 10, Cricbuzz revealed that the BCCI is planning to hold the next mini-auction from December 13-15. Further, it stated that the Rajasthan Royals are indeed looking to release Sanju Samson, while the Delhi Capitals are mulling parting ways with Mitchell Starc for IPL 2026.

October 16: Official: Kane Williamson joins LSG as strategic advisor

On October 16, Sanjiv Goenka confirmed the appointment of New Zealand star Kane Williamson as the new Strategic Advisor of the franchise ahead of the IPL 2026 season. Williamson, who has already represented the Durban Super Giants in the SA20, will now work behind the scenes for the franchise in the IPL.

October 17: Official: DC owner interested in buying RCB

Earlier, last month, rumours hit the market that the RCB owners are looking to put the club up for sale. Several big names, such as Aadar Poonawalla, showed interest, but JSW owner Parth Jindal, who co-owns the Delhi Capitals, also showed interest in buying RCB.

October 18: Official: SRH likely to release Mohammed Shami

On October 18, rumours of Mohammed Shami being out of SRH's plan hit the net as it stated that the Men in Orange are looking to part ways with underperforming players and Shami is on top of the list because of his fitness concerns.

October 22: Rumours: CSK looking to trade Washington Sundar from GT

CSK have set their sights on Sundar as a replacement for retired R Ashwin and have already started a discussion with Gujarat Titans for a potential trade deal for Washington Sundar. However, details are not out whether it will be a player trade or all-cash deal.

October 22: Rumours: Three franchises eye Ishan Kishan for IPL 2026

 There are reports that three franchises are interested in signing Ishan Kishan from Sunrisers Hyderabad. Notably, the former MI star, who was bought by the Men in Orange for 11.25 crores in IPL 2025. 

The report from The Times of India mentioned that the Mumbai Indians are interested in bringing the southpaw back to the helm alongside the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Rajasthan Royals.

October 23: Official: Punjab Kings bring new spin coach

The Punjab Kings franchise has named former Indian spinner Sairaj Bahutule as their new spin bowling coach ahead of the IPL 2026 auction. Bahutule will be replacing Sunil Joshi, who served the franchise as its spin coach since the 2023 edition of the tournament.

October 30: Official: Abhishek Nayar joins KKR as new head coach

Kolkata Knight Riders, the three-time IPL champions, have announced Abhishek Nayar as their new head coach. The former Mumbai cricketer has replaced Chandrakant Pandit after the disappointing season for the franchise in 2025.
