On Wednesday, August 6, the ICC updated their weekly rankings charts, and the list saw several noticeable changes. Indian players and England stars were rewarded heavily for their efforts during the recently concluded Test series.

While the Test fever was on, Pakistan stars too shone in the T20I series against the West Indies, where the Men in Green stunned the side from the Caribbean to seal the series 2-1.

Pakistan opener Saim Ayub has been rewarded for his significant performance against the Windies and jumped 25 spots to now rank joint 37th, his career-best rankings in the shortest format of the game.

Ayub has a rating of 559, his career-best and is now Pakistan's fourth-highest-ranked batter in T20I rankings.

How Did Saim Ayub Perform In the West Indies?

Ayub had a great series against the West Indies as the 23-year-old slammed 130 runs in three innings, averaging 43.33. The southpaw scored a brilliant 57 (38) in the first match, followed by a failure in the second match.

However, the 23-year-old scored 66 (49) in the third T20I to finish the series on a high. The performance came in a do-or-die match for the the Men in Green.

Ayub Puts An End To Poor Run

Saim was under heavy criticism before this series, as he failed to show any promise against Bangladesh in the home and away T20I series.

Ayub amassed just 28 runs in three matches during Pakistan's tour to Bangladesh. Prior to that tour, the southpaw could only score 49 runs in three innings at home, averaging just 16.33

Sufiyan Muqeem Too Shines In The Ranking Charts

While Ayub jumped 25 spots, Pakistan's Hasan Nawaz too rose 24 spots to now rank 30th in the charts.

Sufiyan Muqeem jumped 69 spots to now rank joint 35th, a spot higher than Shaheen Afridi, who dropped a spot to now rank 37th.
