Rohit Sharma fulfilled the wish of a traffic police officer in Indore when Team India visited the city on January 14 to face Afghanistan in the second T20I of their three-match series. The Indian captain, who had met the officer named Ranjeet Singh during team’s previous Indore visit last year, gifted him a special autograph along with a heartfelt message.

Rohit Sharma fulfils traffic officer’s request in Indore

Team India, under Rohit Sharma, attended Indore earlier this week to face Afghanistan at the iconic Holkar Stadium. During their stay in the city, captain Sharma gifted his fan Ranjeet Singh a special autograph alongside a heartfelt message through the team bus driver.

Ranjeet, who is a traffic police officer in Indore, took to his Facebook account and acknowledged Rohit Sharma’s kind gesture towards him. Ranjeet added that he had also met the Indian captain back in 2023, but could not manage to get his autograph at the time due to his traffic duties.

The traffic official praised Rohit Sharma for remembering him, and for finding a way to gift his special autograph to him through the Indian team bus driver.

Sharma, meanwhile, admired Ranjeet’s passion in his heartfelt note by writing:

“Love your energy. Wish you lot of success.”

On the cricketing front, Rohit Sharma led Team India to emphatic run-chase wins over Afghanistan in the first two T20Is to seal their three-match series with a game to spare.

Sharma, however, failed to make any impact with the bat as the dashing opening batsman was dismissed for a duck in each of the two innings played out so far in the series. The cricketer made a comeback to India’s T20I setup through the series after a gap of 14 months, considering he had made his previous appearance in the format back during the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia.

Rohit Sharma and co. will now face Afghanistan in the third T20I at Bengaluru on January 17.
