Asia Cup 2022: Rohit Sharma believes India are a different side compared to their last game against Pakistan

India's all-format skipper Rohit Sharma has now opened up on his side's chances against Pakistan in the upcoming Asia Cup. He said that his team is currently playing differently from the last time they played against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup, where India received a heavy drubbing from their arch-nemesis.

Adding the fact that the conditions and situation will be different this time around when they face off again on 28th August. He mentioned that India is now playing a distinctive brand of cricket, and they have prepared well in the lead-up to the multilateral event.

The 35-year-old has said they won't be laying any emphasis on the opposition they will be coming up against, in fact, treating them all in the same manner. Instead, according to him, the main focus has been on how his side has performed against every nation in the recent past.

What Rohit said about India's chances

"Asia Cup is happening after a long time, but we played Pakistan last year in Dubai, where obviously the result did not go our way. But the Asia Cup is different now. The team is playing differently and has prepared differently, so a lot of things have changed from then,

"But for us, we need to assess the conditions, keep in mind the fact that we will be playing in 40-plus degrees. We need to assess all those factors and prepare accordingly,

"Similarly, in the Asia Cup, our focus will be on what to achieve as a team and not think about who we are facing - be it Pakistan, Bangladesh or Sri Lanka."

Rohit's strategy earning dividends

It is worth bringing up that India has displayed an excellent show under skipper Rohit in the previous series against England and West Indies. India's form has undoubtedly improved from the last time they faced Pakistan, and we expect them to give a solid fight this time.
