Invincibles' bowlers ties down Rockets' batters

Oval's skipper Suzie Bates won the toss and asked the Nat Sciver-led side to bat first on an overcast day. Bryony Smith was the first one to depart on a score of 10, courtesy of Sophia Smale. The incoming batter was the Rockets' captain Sciver who was only one from her side to play a valuable knock of 59 from 48 deliveries, thus helping her side recover.

The second-best batter in the side was Elyse Villani, managing just 17, which wasn't enough to pose any threat to the opposition. Eva Gray was the pick of the bowlers with two wickets, giving away just 16 runs along with the rest of the bowlers who all played their part in restricting Trent to just 112 in the process losing eight wickets.

King and Smith tried, but Oval finds narrow escape

The Surrey-based side started their innings well when Bates played a 32-ball 41 knock consisting of two sixes and three fours, with Alice Capsey also playing a vital role scoring 24. Their innings was going very well until the bowling duo of Bryony Smith and Alana King came in after the departure of Bates and Capsey.

Oval's innings started to crumble under pressure, with King bowling ten consecutive dots from 60th to 70th delivery, turning the situation a little bit. With five required from the last ten deliveries, Smith bowled excellently to take the equation down to 2 from 2. The task started to look tough, but Marizanne Kapp (34) was brilliant in providing the final touch by hitting a four to take help Invincibles cross the final hurdle.

Oval has moved to the third spot after this win with 4 points, whereas the Rockets are on fourth place with just two points.
