Top 5 batting performances in the Women's Hundred in the last week

The second edition of the Women's Hundred got underway last week and has provided the fans with the kind of thrilling cricket the fans have been expecting from the international stars. 

This edition of the women's edition has also been further strengthened by the presence of the Australian cricketers who missed out in the last edition. In this article we will be taking a look at the top 5 innings in the tournament up till now. 


5. Dani Wyatt 65 off 34 vs the London Spirit

Fifth on the list is a boundary laced half century by Dani Wyatt which fuelled her side to a victory in a tricky chase in the the 2nd match of the second edition of the women's hundred. 

The London Spirit won the toss and propelled by opener Beth Mooney's 97*, the Spirit posted a total of 155/4. In reply Dani Wyatt took charge of providing the momentum in the chase by scoring 65 which featured 12 fours and 2 sixes. 


4. Deandra Dottin 67* off 37 vs the Welsh Fire

Deandra Dottin's 67* against the Welsh Fire in the eighth match of the tournament is the fourth on the list. Coming in at number. 3 the hard hitting West Indian all-rounder hit 8 fours and 2 sixes to help her side reach to a competitive total of 156/2. 

In reply the Fire fell short off  the target by 11 runs despite contributions from Tammy Beaumont and Hayley Mathews. Dottin impressed with the ball as well, taking 2 wickets and was awarded the player of the match award for her all round exploits. 


3. Hayley Mathews 69 off 41 vs the Manchester Originals

Young West Indian batter Hayley Mathews' innings of 69 against the Manchester originals is the third on our list. The Fire won the toss and decided to bowl first. The Originals managed to reached an above par total of 156. In reply Mathews and Beaumont started excellently for the Fire, with the former going on to score 69 off 41 deliveries (12 fours). However post Mathews' dismissal, the chase went haywire for the Fire as they ended up by losing the match by 11 runs.


2. Lauren Winfield-Hill 74* off 42 vs the Northern Superchargers

Lauren Winfield-Hill opened this year's Women's Hundred in grand fashion. The Invincibles won the toss and chose to field first in this year's first match. 

Jemimah Rodrigues' fifty helped the Superchargers reach a respectable total of 143, which was scaled down by the Invincibles with ease. 

Opening batter Lauren Winfield top scored with 74* off just 42 deliveries (11 fours 1 six)  as helped her side chase down the total with ease, winning by 9 wickets and 16 balls to spare. 


1.Beth Mooney 97* off 55 vs the Southern Brave

Australia's Beth Mooney, who has been unstoppable in international cricket since the last year, registered the highest ever individual score ever in the Women's Hundred in the match against the Southern Brave at Southampton. 

The Spirit won the toss and chose to at first, which was utilised to the fullest by Mooney, who scored a magnificent 97* off just 55 (16 fours 1 six) to help her side reach 155/4. However, the Spirit lost the match the Brave chased the target with 6 balls to spare.
