With each passing day, we are inching towards the much-anticipated T20 World Cup scheduled in the USA and the Caribbean. Talking about the Indian team, the BCCI has already announced a robust squad, led by Rohit Sharma, for the marquee event. 

Meanwhile, the media has got some insights regarding the Indian players' travel to the United States for the World Cup. 

As reported by PTI, the Indian contingent will travel in two phases. The Indian coaching staff and players whose teams won't qualify for the IPL 2024 playoffs will travel in the first phase. 

Meanwhile, the players whose teams will feature in the playoffs will join them later after the conclusion of the IPL 2024. 

So, considering the current playoffs qualification scenario, skipper Rohit Sharma will travel alongside Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah in the first phase as Mumbai Indians are already out of the playoff race. 

Legendary batter Virat Kohli could also land in the USA with his MI colleagues, given that RCB are only one defeat away from a group-stage elimination. 

Travelling reserves Rinku Singh, Avesh Khan, Khaleel Ahmed, and Shubman Gill's tentative arrival in the US will also depend on their respective teams' performance in the tournament. 

On the contrary, players like Sanju Samson, Ravindra Jadeja and Shivam Dube could join the Indian World Cup squad slightly later, with their IPL teams on the verge of knockout qualification. 

India will begin their T20 World Cup 2024 campaign with the group-stage face-off against Ireland on June 5.
