On 2 May, the cricketing world was shook after the untimely demise of 20-year-old cricketer, Josh Baker. After over a week, Worcestershire played their very first game against Kent, but before the match began both the team made sure that they honour Josh in their own loving way.
To pay tribute to the young gun, the club was not just donning jersey's with Baker’s shirt number, 33 along with black armbands they also held a minute long silence in his memory. The club had previously revealed that the Pears will be wearing Baker's squad number under the club's crest for the rest of the season.

At the ripe age of 20 years, Baker's unforeseen death has left people mourning especially because of how much talent and grit he was built with. His achievements at such a young age spoke on his behalf and he undeniably had a very promising life ahead of him.
Having made his first-class debut in July 2021, he managed to scalp 43 wickets from 22 matches. The spinner unfortunately passed away just after a day taking three wickets for his club's second game of the season. Overall, he has picked up 47 games in all formats for Worcestershire, taking 70 wickets.
