Australia Legends (AUS-L) rounded off the league-stage of the ongoing Road Safety World Series T20 2022 on a high as they hammered the English counterparts by 6 wickets in Raipur on Tuesday (September 27).
Chasing 161, the Aussie Legends rode on whirlwind knocks from Shane Watson (47 off 26), Ben Dunk (42 off 13) and unbeaten 16-ball 33 from Brad Hodge to make short work of the target.
It was Watson, who started the onslaught in the powerplay as the former all-rounder 7 fours and a couple of sixes to get his side off and running.
Left-arm orthodox Stephen Parry (3/30 in 4) tried his best to keep England in the game as he dismissed Watson before getting rid of an equally dangerous-looking Ben Dunk and then Callum Ferguson for a golden duck to reduce the Australia Legends to 97/3 in the 11th.
His efforts went in vain though as Hodge and Nathan Reardon (17* off 16) made short work of the requisite runs to take their side through in the 14th over.
