A 32-year-old man was arrested after England Test captain, Ben Stokes' house was raided by a masked gang, the police said on Friday. Stokes was in Pakistan for the Test tour when a masked gang broke into his house and took away the valuables on October 17.
His wife and two children were at home and fortunately no harm was done as the cases of trespassing has increased in England over the last few years. Durham Police stated that they have arrested a man on the suspicion of breaking into Stokes' house, but he has since been bailed.
As per Stokes, several valuable items were stolen, which included a medal which he received for winning the 2019 World Cup with England.
Stokes devastated after recent incident
Ben Stokes was devastated after the incident as he shared images of the stolen items on his X account, including a Christian Dior bag, and a Gold ring.
“By far the worst thing about this crime is that it was carried out whilst my wife and two young children were in the house," the 33-year-old wrote.
“Thankfully, none of my family came to any physical harm. Understandably, however, the experience has had an impact on their emotional and mental state.
England lose Test series under Stokes' leadership
England won the first Test against Pakistan in Multan in Stokes' absence. However, the English captain returned back in the side for the last two matches and the team couldn't do much as the Pakistan spinners ran riot and thrashed the English side, 2-1.
The duo of Noman Ali and Sajid Khan wreaked havoc as the English side looked vulnerable and lost the series, rather easily.
