Sai Sudharsan slammed a fantastic hundred vs AUS-A [Source: @OverMidWicket/X]
Promising Indian batter B Sai Sudharsan oozed his class with the bat as he struck a magnificent hundred to help India A claim the driving seat in their ongoing unofficial Test match against Australia A in Mackay. Coming at number three, Sudharsan hammered 103 runs off 200 deliveries, scripting the Indian side's remarkable comeback in the match.
Sudharsan's Clinical Knock Earns India A Healthy Lead
After Mukesh Kumar's sensational six-wicket haul restricted Australia-A to 195 in their first innings, India-A had a disastrous start to their second innings, losing their openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Abhimanyu Easwaran cheaply inside nine overs. While skipper Gaikwad sustained his lean patch, Easwaran was runout for 12 runs.
However, these two dismissals hardly had any impact on the dynamic batting duo of Sai Sudharsan and Devdutt Padikkal, who notched up gritty fifties to push the hosts on the back foot.
While Padikkal fell short of a well-deserved ton by 12 runs, Sudharsan completed a memorable century with a single off Todd Murphy. Before being castled by the wily off-spinner, the southpaw contributed 103 runs off 200 deliveries with the help of nine boundaries.
Riding on Sudharsan and Padikkal's batting exploits, India A posted a respectable score of 312 runs in their second innings. Chasing 225, the home side has got off to a cautious start, placed at 17 for none, with Sam Konstas and Marcus Harris unbeaten in the middle.
