On June 13, Jitesh grabbed headlines by emulating Dinesh Karthik’s Nidahas Trophy heroics, hitting a six off the last ball to take his team to the final. In the recently concluded match between Bharat Rangers and Neco Master Blasters, the Atharva Taide-led side posted 204/3 batting first.

In reply, the Neco Master Blasters lost wickets at regular intervals but stayed in the chase. Jitesh remained unbeaten, and with five runs required off the final delivery, the RCB star smashed a maximum to seal the win. Watch the shot here.

The match-winning performance comes at a crucial time, as Neco Master Blasters have now reached the final and will face the winner of Semi-Final 2 between Pagariya Strikers Nagpur and Orange Tigers on June 15.

What Did Dinesh Karthik Do in the Nidahas Trophy?

Former India wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik had a start-and-stop international career. His most memorable outing came during the 2018 Nidahas Trophy when he hit a six off the final ball to win the trophy for India against Bangladesh.

Notably, Bangladesh posted 166/8 batting first. In reply, India lost early wickets and Karthik was sent in late when the game seemed to be slipping away. He played an innings of a lifetime, scoring an unbeaten 29 off just 8 balls, which included the match-winning six off the final delivery.
