Flintoff's Son Makes The Cut As England U19 Squad Announced To Face Ayush Mhatre's India U19

In a significant development, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced a 15-member Under-19 squad for the upcoming One-Day tour against India Under-19, scheduled for later this month.

Thomas Rew will lead the side, while Rocky Flintoff, son of Andrew Flintoff, has secured his place in the squad. Below is the complete 15-member team.

England U19 Squad for ODI Series Against India U19:

Thomas Rew (C), Ralphie Albert, Ben Dawkins, Jaydn Denly, Rocky Flintoff, Alex French, Alex Green, Jack Home, James Isbell, Ben Mayes, James Minto, Isaac Mohammed, Joseph Moores, Seb Morgan, Alex Wade.

Notably, the England U19 team will face the India U19 team in a five-match One-Day series starting on June 24.

Who Is Rocky Flintoff, Stealing the Limelight?

Rocky is the son of England legend Andrew Flintoff, who represented the nation in over 200 matches across formats and is regarded as one of the finest all-rounders of his era. Now, his 16-year-old son is looking to extend his father’s legacy.

Rocky has played 12 first-class matches and recorded one fifty-plus score. He has also scored a century in youth Tests, demonstrating his growing potential.

Rocky’s England to Face Ayush Mhatre and Co

This promises to be an exciting series, as the India Under-19 side features several notable names who have already made their mark in the recently concluded edition of the IPL.

Ayush Mhatre will captain the Indian team. He featured for Chennai Super Kings (CSK), while Vaibhav Suryavanshi is also part of the 16-member squad. Notably, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) star, Vaibhav, became the youngest player to score a century in the history of the league.

India U19 Squad To Face England U19

On May 22, a 16-member India U19 squad was announced to face England U-19. Ayush Mhatre was named captain, while it also features Suryavanshi and 17-year-old Pranav Ragavendra.
