The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) suffered a major jolt ahead of the next season as their new recruit, the Australian seamer, Josh Hazlewood suffered a calf injury during the 3rd Test Vs India and was ruled out of the remainder of the tour.

The incident occurred on Day 4 of the Gabba Test as Hazlewood looked in some discomfort during his bowling as his pace dipped and the fast bowler clearly looked uncomfortable. As a result, he was taken off the field and it came to light that the pacer will miss the next two Tests against India.

Hazlewood's injury has kept RCB on their toes as the team banked on the Aussie bowler to deliver the goods for their side. However, as per 7Cricket, the star pacer is eyeing a comeback in the Sri Lanka series, prior to the IPL 2025 season. The two-match Test series will get over by February 10, and the lanky pacer will get a lengthy break to recover and get fit for the IPL season.

RCB bought Hazlewood for 12.5 crore

Having played for RCB before, Hazlewood had the prior experience of playing for the franchise and the team once again showed faith in his abilities and bought the seamer for INR 12.5 crore. RCB needed a quality foreign seamer, and in Hazlewood, they had the right fit.

It is expected that he'll form a formidable partnership alongside veteran seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar as RCB will look to capture their maiden IPL title in the upcoming season. In 27 IPL matches, he has scalped 35 wicket, at an economy of 8.06.
