Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have brought in Tim Seifert to replace Jacob Bethell ahead of their IPL 2025 playoffs campaign. The young England star will be leaving for national duties ahead of their upcoming white-ball series against the West Indies.

Bethell will play his last match for RCB on May 23 against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He’ll then fly to England the next day, May 24, to link up with his national side.

Tim Seifert Set To Join RCB On May 24

Tim Seifert, a wicketkeeper-batter from New Zealand, will officially join RCB on May 24, the same day Bethell departs. Seifert has experience playing in 66 T20 international matches and has scored 1,540 runs in the format. RCB have signed him for whopping INR 2 crore as the temporary replacement.

Earlier, RCB also brought in Zimbabwe fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani as a replacement for South Africa’s Lungi Ngidi.

In another update, Josh Hazlewood was recently seen bowling in an intense training session with Sam Konstas. The video went viral, and his expected return to the team is a big boost for RCB as they approach crucial matches in the playoff race. Notably, he is expected to join the team by May 25.

How Can RCB Finish In Top Two?

RCB are currently sitting in second place on the points table with two league matches left. If they win both, they have a strong shot at finishing in the top two. However, their final position will also depend on how Gujarat Titans perform. If RCB win just one game, they’ll need Punjab Kings to lose at least once to stay in the top two.
