The spiz wizard from Afghanistan, Rashid Khan, has announced to donate his entire match fee from the ongoing ICC ODI Cricket World Cup 2023 in India to support earthquake victims in his homeland.

According to reports, over 2,400 individuals lost their lives in the unusual dual earthquakes that struck Afghanistan last Saturday.

In addition, Rashid Khan has also announced his plans to kickstart a fundraising campaign to aid those who have been impacted by the tragedy.

Here’s what Rashid Khan wrote on X [Formerly Twitter]:

“I learned with great sadness about the tragic consequences of the earthquake that struck the western provinces (Herat, Farah, and Badghis) of Afghanistan.”

"I am donating all of my #CWC23 match fees to help the affected people. Soon, we will be launching a fundraising campaign to call upon those who can support the people in need."

Afghanistan kicked off their World Cup 2023 campaign against Bangladesh on Saturday in Dharamsala, where they were handed a 6-wicket defeat. Rashid managed just 9 with the bat and went wicketless as Bangladesh comfortably chased down a 157-run target.

Afghanistan will next lock horns with India on October 11 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
