Virat Kohli's much-anticipated entrance to the battleground in Chennai for India's ICC World Cup 2023 opening game was made doubly special on Sunday (October 8) by the DJ at the venue. The great Indian batter stepped over the ropes for India's chase at No.3 with the famous 'Leo' theme song playing in the backdrop.

Kohli entered the stage in grand fashion, walking in with amazing swagger and confidence towards the pitch. The zeal and determination were evident in the legend's eyes and body language and matched perfectly with the song at the back, which the packed crowd at the MA Chidambaram Stadium was seen vibing with.

The song is from rising music director Anirudh's collaboration down South with Tamil Nadu superstar Vijay for his upcoming film 'Leo' and provided a thrilling set-up for Kohli's entrance to the crease at Chepauk. Fans based in the southern parts of India could instantly relate to the song and found it a perfect fit for the setting as the Indian batting superstar stepped over for the intense run-chase against Australia.

'Leo' Theme Song Backs Kohli's Entrance For Chennai Classic

A clip from the incident was captured by the fans present inside the historic MA Chidambaram Stadium and went viral over social media since it provided fans with a lovely reference to Thalapathy Vijay's film and emboldened Kohli's walk up to the crease.

The 'Leo' song suited perfectly to the situation as Kohli arrived with a spring in his stride, looking ever so determined to help India avert the Aussie threat and recover his team's strong footing after they were reduced to an eye-catching 3 for 2 in the tricky chase of 200 runs.

After the animated walk, Kohli produced another of his masterclass knock in a run-chase. The experienced right-hander brought all his experience and skill into play to conquer the challenge at hand with a brilliant innings of 85 during a match-winning stand of 165 runs for the fourth wicket with KL Rahul.

By the time Kohli got out, the match was firmly in India's grasp. However, the great batter was visibly disappointed not have finished off the proceedings as he missed out on a great chance to record a three-figure milestone. Nevertheless, Kohli would've taken India's six-wicket triumph and a winning start to the World Cup with both hands.
