The Punjab Kings franchise have released the names of their retained players for the IPL 2025 season ahead of the impending mega auction. On October 31, the franchise confirmed the same on all their social media accounts as well as on the official website.
Interestingly, the Punjab Kings team management has retained only two players, both uncapped Indian stars, and are now set to enter the IPL 2025 mega auction with the highest available purse among all franchises.

The Punjab Kings franchise have only retained two uncapped Indian cricketers in the form of Shashank Singh and Prabhsimran Singh. As per the official confirmation, the franchise retained Shashank for a sum of Rs.5.5 crores and Prabhsimran for Rs.4 crores.

1st Uncapped Retention For PBKS for IPL 2025 - Shashank Singh
Chhattisgarh cricketer Shashank Singh became the first retention for the Punjab Kings for the IPL 2025 season. The belligerent batting all-rounder clobbered 354 runs for PBKS earlier this year during IPL 2024 at an astonishing strike rate of 164.65. In a batting line-up that featured the likes of Jonny Bairstow and Shikhar Dhawan, it was uncapped Shashank who emerged as the highest run-maker of the season for his team.
2nd Uncapped Retention For PBKS for IPL 2025 - Prabhsimran Singh
Wicketkeeper-batter Prabhsimran Singh was also retained by the Punjab Kings for his batting pyrotechnics in IPL 2024. Aged 23 during the season, the attacking right-handed batter made 334 runs at a strike rate of 156.80 from 14 innings.
Punjab Kings Purse Remaining for IPL 2025 Mega Auction
The Punjab Kings franchise will walk into the IPL 2025 mega auction later this year with the highest remaining purse among all teams. Retaining only two cricketers prior to the auction, both uncapped Indian stars no less, the Punjab Kings’ remaining purse amounts to a staggering sum of Rs.110.5 crores.
