Rohit Sharma who finally led India to end the 11-year ICC trophy drought on Saturday, June 29, with a win over South Africa in Barbados has received a touching message from his wife, Ritika Sajdeh, on Instagram where she mentioned how much it meant for Rohit while also touching upon his T20I retirement.

Rohit Sharma, following the 2011 World Cup snub had been looking for some sort of redemption for over a decade, at last, got a sweet ending in Barbados after winning the T20 World Cup as a captain.

He stuck to his aggressive template despite the heartbreaking day of November 19 in Ahmedabad during the Cricket World Cup in 2023 and comprehensively took India through, ending the evident desperation for a major trophy.

Ritika Sajdeh, his wife, posted a heartfelt message for the skipper in which she talks about how important it was for him and how sad she is with his T20I retirement where he leaves a part of his career behind him.

He batted at a strike rate of 156.70 despite playing the first leg of the tournament on bowler friendly tracks in New York.

He finished his T20I career as a highest run scorer of the format with 4231 runs, 43 more than his opening partner Virat Kohli's 4188.
