In the ongoing Mumbai T20 League 2025 match between North Mumbai Panthers and Triumph Knights Mumbai North East, Panthers' captain Prithvi Shaw has made his bat and returned to form with a sublime fifty.

Shaw, who was roped in as an icon star by North Mumbai Panthers and appointed captain, has slammed his first fifty of the season and scored 75 (34), which featured 12 fours and three sixes. His knock helped North Mumbai put 207/6 on the board against Suryakumar Yadav-led side.

Shaw Strikes Six Boundaries In An Over

It seems that the right-handed batter has made it a habit to hit bowlers for six boundaries in an over, as the Mumbai-based cricketer did again against Minad Manjrekar. In the fifth over of the match, the former DC star guided the first two boundaries for four.

Shaw opted for a big shot on the third ball and finished the over with three consecutive fours to collect 26 runs off that over. Notably, in IPL's 2021 edition, Prithvi didn't show any mercy towards the KKR bowler and his U-19 teammate Shivam Mavi as he whacked him for six fours in an over.

Shaw's Knock Makes A Case For IPL Return

The 25-year-old, who was once touted as the net big thing in Indian cricket, lost his way in the last few years as his disciplinary and fitness issues saw him ousted from the international set-up. It has been four years since Prithvi's last India appearance, and his domestic performance also hasn't been up to the mark.

The right-handed batter dealt a huge setback after he failed to grab any interest during the IPL 2025 mega-auction and went unsold. However, Shaw would hope for a turnout of things going forward, and this knock could be the stepping stone for that change.

Talking about his performance in the ongoing Mumbai T20 League 2025, the 25-year-old has scored just 137 runs in five innings, averaging just 27.40.
