PM Modi To Meet India Players - (X.com)
The Indian side will return to the country on July 4 after being stuck in Barbados for four days. The Men in Blue won the T20 World Cup title on Saturday, June 29, but had to wait for four days in the Caribbean Island because of Cyclone Beryl.
On Wednesday, July 3, a video surfaced on the internet where the Indian side boarded a charted flight from Barbados to leave for India. The Rohit Sharma-led side will land in New Delhi at around 6 am on July 4.
On the same day, the entire team and the supporting staff will meet PM Narendra Modi at 11:00 am.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi to meet the Men's Indian Cricket Team tomorrow at 11 am. The Team that is bringing home the #T20WorldCup2024 trophy, will arrive from Barbados tomorrow, July 4, early morning," Tweeted ANI.
After India won the World Cup, PM Modi also took to Twitter to extend his wishes to the Men in Blue.
"CHAMPIONS! Our team brings the T20 World Cup home in STYLE! We are proud of the Indian Cricket Team. This match was HISTORIC," tweeted PM.
Following the win, the players also had a telephone conversation with the PM. Talking about the recent events, after meeting Modi, the team would leave for Mumbai as they are planning to do an open bus parade on July 5.
