Pakistan Cricket Board are in a dilemmna over the white-ball captaincy debacle. On Tuesday, Babar Azam stepped down from the post of the white-ball skipper, in order to concentrate on his batting, and now PCB faces race against time to find their new captain.

PCB had short-listed Mohammad Rizwan as the successor of Babar in ODIs and T20I cricket, but as per reports, they are yet to hold talks with the star wicket-keeper for the captaincy position. Pakistan don't have a white-ball series as of yet, but they will tour Zimbabwe in November for ODI and T20I series, and for that, they need an able leader to lead the team.

Still no talks held with Rizwan

As per reports, PCB are carefully monitoring the captaincy candidates before they take the final call. They have not invited Rizwan to any meetings related to the shambolic series loss against Bangladesh.

Also, Rizwan is expected to carefully consider the captaincy, if he gets an offer from PCB. Rizwan is likely to express concern regarding the poor treatment the former captains have received at the hands of PCB.

Babar had internal tussles with teammates

The day Babar stepped down from the captaincy post, reports started to circulate that Babar had internal tussles within the team and felt disconnected with the Pakistan teammates.

He sensed that he was undervalued in the side, and after Pakistan's shocking exit in the T20 World Cup group stage, PCB had distant itself from Babar and had no communication woth him.

Babar, can now follow Kohli's footsteps, and just like his Indian counterpart, he can now solely focus on batting, especially since the captaincy burden has been lifted from his shoulders.
