Several media outlets reported that Mohammad Shami's injury has worsen and he will most likely miss the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Series, set to begin from November 22. However, on Wednesday evening, Shami quashed all the baseless rumours circulating against him.

As reported by TOI, Shami developed a swollen knee while undergoing rehabilitation at NCA. Reports mentioned that the ace pacer would miss 6 to 8 weeks of cricket, and won't be a part of the India squad for the Border-Gavaskar Series.

With all the news circulating about Shami's injury, the Indian pacer decided to hit back at all the rumours, and urged people not to believe on the fake news circulating related to his health and injury.

Why these type of baseless rumors? I'm working hard and trying my level best to recover. Neither the BCCI nor me have mentioned that I am out of the Border Gavaskar series. I request the public to stop paying attention to such news from unofficial sources. Please stop and don’t spread such fake fake fake & fake news, especially without my statement."

Shami gearing up for India comeback

Shami, the experienced India pacer, last played for India during the World Cup 2023 final against Australia. Since then, he has been out with an Achilles' heel injury. Earlier this year, the pace bowler underwent a successful surgery for the same, and has been recovering under the observation of the Physio at NCA.

The fast bowler is eager to play a couple of matches for Bengal in the upcoming Ranji Trophy games, as the matches will provide a great platform for Shami to test his fitness ahead of the Australia tour.

Shami, if selected for the Australian tour, will be one of the key players, and alongside Jasprit Bumrah, will be the leader of the pace attack.
