PCB Unveils New Pakistan 'Star Nation' Jersey For Upcoming Cricket World Cup 2023

In a grand event at Lahore, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in the presence of chairman Zaka Ashraf unveiled Pakistan's new jersey for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023.

The new jersey is being branded as 'Star Nation Jersey' which symbolizes the values of aspiration, brilliance, and radiant glow of Pakistan's cricketing achievements and also showcases the deep connection between fans and their much-loved heroes.

A special video montage of all the iconic World Cup jerseys from 1992 to 2019 was also launched by PCB in a promotional video, where Pakistan's new 2023 jersey could be seen taking inspiration from all the previous versions. 

Pakistan's all-format skipper Babar Azam, all-rounder Shadab Khan, pacer Naseem Shah, women's captain Nida Dar, and Aliya Riaz could be seen donning the jersey.

Pakistan's national flag and cricket team's logo can be seen on the left side, while the logo for ICC CWC 2023 can be seen on the right side. In a statement, PCB chairman Ashraf and Director Usman Waheed lauded the new jersey and called it more than just a uniform. 

Here's what Ashraf said

"The Star Nation Jersey bears witness to the enduring bond between our cricketers and the passionate fans who stand by them through every match. This jersey encapsulates our rich cricketing heritage and the luminous future that awaits.”

Here's what Waheed said

"The Star Nation Jersey isn't just a uniform; it's a canvas woven with stories, sacrifices, and triumphs. Each star on this jersey represents the unwavering support of our fans and the radiant legacy of our cricketing heroes. Every detail has been meticulously crafted to ensure that donning this jersey will instill profound pride in every Pakistani.”

Pakistan kicks off its World Cup campaign against the Netherlands on October 6. Prior to the marquee event, Pakistan will feature in six-nation Asia Cup 2023, which starts on August 30.
