The cricket authorities in Pakistan are optimistic about generating a significant amount of revenue, estimated to be around 8 to 10 billion rupees, from the sale of media broadcasting rights for both the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and the team's international matches held within the country.

PCB likely to earn in billions through PSL and international matches

The PCB plans to initiate a process of inviting bids for the media rights of the upcoming PSL events and the subsequent four-year period encompassing the team's home matches in international cricket. The PCB is set to extend the invitation for bids not only for the media rights but also for the production rights of the matches.

From what insiders have shared, two Pakistani television channels have reached out to the board to discuss acquiring media rights for both the PSL and the team's home international matches. However, one of these channels has faced government blacklisting.

Furthermore, a third channel, in partnership with an overseas investor, is reportedly showing keen interest in joining the competition to secure the media rights.

According to the source, the PCB is currently occupied with conducting market research as part of its ongoing activities. Additionally, the PCB plans to enlist the assistance of a consulting firm to aid in this process.
