Virat Kohli, the former Indian captain, is known for his remarkable fitness and dedication to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. His fitness regime is quite rigorous and includes a combination of cardiovascular exercises, weight training, and functional training.

In terms of diet, Kohli follows a strict regimen that emphasizes a balanced intake of proteins, carbohydrates, healthy fats, and essential nutrients. Kohli is also known for avoiding processed foods, refined sugars, and unhealthy snacks.

In fact, some media outlets once reported that Kohli imports the water that he drinks from France, and each bottle costs him Rs 4,000. The source of this water is Evian Les Bains, one of the largest lakes in Europe.

Talking about Kohli's diet, there have been rumours that he follows a strictly vegetarian diet. However, that is not true. Kohli is a quasi-vegetarian, which means he occasionally consumes eggs and meat. Quasi-vegetarians may reduce their meat consumption for health, environmental, or ethical reasons, while still occasionally consuming animal products.

Kohli's daily diet includes consumption of dal, quinoa, eggs and vegetables. He also likes to drink black coffee.

In 2018, Kohli stated that he had decided to exclude meat from his diet due to health issues.

In an old interview in 2018, Kohli stated that:

"I had a cervical spine issue which resulted in a tingling sensation in my little finger making it difficult for me to bat. It happened around the Centurion Test in South Africa in 2018. Moreover, my stomach became a bit acidic, my uric acid went high and my stomach started pulling calcium from the bones which actually resulted in the spine issue. Hence, I had to cut down on meat and now I feel better than ever," he stated in an old interview.

On the work front, Kohli is currently preparing for the Asia Cup 2023, which begins on August 30. He will be one of India’s key batsmen in the tournament. His next big assignment after the Asia Cup will be the World Cup in October.
