Wahab Riaz was removed as chief selector of Pakistan after the national team crashed out of the group stage of the T20 World Cup. There were expectations that he would not be associated with PCB after his ouster, but the news coming out is that he is being sent to Maldives by the Pakistan board to attend ICC's coaching workshop.

The workshop is scheduled to take place on 29th and 30th of July and along with Wahab Riaz, Shahid Anwar, the head coach of Pakistan's National Cricket Academy will also travel to Maldives. The meeting is set to focus on the latest coaching techniques and strategies for talent development at the grassroot level.

The workshop will be conducted by former Pakistan cricketer Iqbal Sikander and former Bangladesh Test captain Amin-ul-Islam.

There is also a four-day ICC level-2 Tutors training course scheduled to take place on July 24 in the national capital of Maldives.

Also, following the disappointment of the T20 World Cup 2024, PCB have taken plenty of high-profile meetings and have changed the structure of selection committee and we might see a change in captaincy too, with Babar Azam most likely to face the axe.
