In a significant development, Punjab Kings' home ground in the IPL 2025 has been confirmed as the venue for the Women's World Cup final. The Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, which is situated in Mullanpur, will host the ultimate clash of the highly-anticipated event.
Women's World Cup 2025 Final Venue Finalised
The Women's World Cup 2025 will be conducted across five cities in India, namely Chandigarh, Vishakhapatnam, Thiruvananthapuram, Indore and Raipur. The much-awaited event will likely be played between September 29 and October 26.
It's worth mentioning that Mullanpur, Thiruvananthapuram and Raipur have yet to host a Women's international match. However, the Women's cricketers are familiar with Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam, as the venue has witnessed eleven Women's white-ball games, including six T20Is and five ODIs.
Indore's Nehru Stadium has witnessed only two Women's ODIs, one of which dates back to the 1997 World Cup. However, according to ESPN Cricinfo, the Holkar Stadium could be preferred to conduct the Women's World Cup matches.
Women's World Cup 2025 Teams
Besides hosts India, Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa and Sri Lanka have qualified for this year's Women's World Cup. The remaining two slots will be determined in the upcoming qualifiers, where Pakistan Women's team is one of the participating sides.
If Pakistan Women qualify for the event, the World Cup will be conducted in a hybrid model. Although the back-up host country hasn't been confirmed, Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates are reported to be the frontrunners.
