The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will host the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 with the tournament likely to begin in September. As per early details, Vizag will host the opening clash of the event, which will be preceded by a grand opening ceremony.

While the International Cricket Council (ICC) is yet to release the official schedule, the key venues have already been shortlisted.

Five Indian Cities To Host ICC Women’s World Cup 2025

According to a Sports Tak report, the BCCI has finalised Vizag, Mullanpur (Punjab), Indore, Trivandrum, and Guwahati as the five host cities for the marquee event in September. The selection of venues was reportedly based on weather patterns and logistical convenience, the tournament expected to span nearly three weeks.

The decision was taken during the BCCI’s apex council meeting in Kolkata on Saturday, where officials mapped out the early framework for the 13th edition of the Women’s 50-over World Cup.

Hybrid Model Confirmed, Pakistan Matches To Be Held In Sri Lanka

In a massive development, it has been agreed that Pakistan, if they qualify, will play all their matches in Sri Lanka as part of a hybrid hosting model. This move aligns with the recent arrangement between the ICC, BCCI, and PCB for the Champions Trophy 2025, where Pakistan hosted the event but India’s matches were shifted to Dubai due to political tensions.

As part of the broader understanding, the BCCI has agreed to ensure that Pakistan’s matches in future ICC tournaments held in India will also take place at neutral venues to ensure continuity of play without geopolitical friction.

Pakistan Yet To Qualify For Women's World Cup 2025

Despite the planning, Pakistan’s participation in the Women’s World Cup 2025 is not yet confirmed. The team will need to earn their spot through the World Cup Qualifiers, scheduled to be held in Pakistan from April 9 to 19. The six-team tournament will determine the final two teams that will advance to the World Cup later this year.

Pakistan will need to finish among the top two to seal their place in the main draw. Failure to do so would mean missing out on yet another major ICC women’s event.

Meanwhile, the Women's World Cup 2025 schedule is yet to be released but the anticipation is already building for what promises to be a milestone tournament for women’s cricket. With India at the helm as host, the 2025 Women’s World Cup is expected to provide a big boost to the women’s game in the subcontinent.
