In a remarkable achievement, ace Indian batter Ruturaj Gaikwad has entered the top ten list in the updated ICC T20I batters rankings. Gaikwad, who slammed a glorious fifty in the second T20I against Zimbabwe, moved thirteen places up to claim his career-best seventh position. 


Gaikwad enters top 10 of batters rankings

The elegant batter from Maharashtra hammered a gorgeous 47-ball 77* in the second T20I against Zimbabwe. 

After India lost Shubman Gill's valuable wicket, Gaikwad formed a scintillating stand with Abhishek Sharma, propelling the visitors to a whopping 234-run total. 

Besides Gaikwad, explosive southpaws Rinku Singh and Abhishek Sharma have also made significant gains. 

While Rinku has jumped four places to number 39, Abhishek, who struck a belligerent ton in the second T20I, has claimed the 75th position. 


Bishnoi gains big, Pandya moves down

Ravi Bishnoi, who has scalped six wickets in the Zimbabwe T20Is, went eight places up to number 14 in the bowlers' rankings. 

Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya, who recently claimed the top position on the allrounders' list, has moved down to number two, making Wanindu Hasaranga the sole leader. 

Among other bowlers, Adam Zampa, Fazalhaq Farooqi and Maheesh Theekshana have made significant leaps, with Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav missing the Zimbabwe series. 

Zimbabwe's prominent pacer Blessing Muzarabani also moved eight spots up to 55th following his impressive performance in the India series.
